DESCRIPTION
Product Agility: Moving from a feature funnel to a product flywheel
Amazons explosive growth has been credited to a self-sustaining/ever-accelerating virtuous cycle dubbed the Amazon flywheel. Similarly, HubSpot has implemented a sales flywheel after realizing that a sales funnel views the customer as an afterthought rather than the driving force for exponential growth. This presentation introduces Product Agility, which applies the concept of the flywheel to reduce internal friction in product management and development, leveraging Agile and Lean Startup principles in a unique process to spark self-sustaining, ever-accelerating product growth.
What you will learn from this talk:
- Why shifting towards a product flywheel really matters
- Which organizational shifts in mindset are critical to remove friction and enable the product flywheel
- How to approach prioritization differently to quickly identify features and functionality with the highest impact
- How to accelerate a transition to the product flywheel

SPEAKERS
DAN GALLAGHER is driven by the notion that life is too short to build products people wont use. After 30 years as a product designer, product manager, product owner, agile team member, product executive, product consultant, and even a scrum master, he has battled on the ground, led from the trenches, fought through the middle, and surveilled from above. He has combined this experience with extensive product research, wisdom from pundits (applied and validated), and life observations to evolve the methodology for Product Agility and the product flywheel.
CAITLIN SCHUMAN is driven by understanding how the intersection of business strategy, process excellence, and team behavior drive organizational performance and is fascinated by the organic development of Agile principles in high performing organizations. She has worked across a variety of industries, companies, and strategic questions in her 6 years of consulting and recently has partnered with Dan Gallagher to refine a Product Agility methodology for continuous discovery, validated learning, and Agile delivery.
