Agile Boston Cash Balance

Agile Boston Financial Philosophy

The Agile Boston Core (leadership) circle has created policy that enables the completely transparent reporting of our current cash balance.  This policy can be summarized as follows:

  • The money belongs to the community
  • Our goal is NOT to accumulate a large amount of money and do nothing with it
  • Instead our goal is to utilize our cash to serve the Agile community of Great Boston
  • Therefore, we deploy this cash to cover expenses and underwrite monthly events and larger conferences
  • We endeavor to be good stewards and spend the money wisely

Agile Boston Cash Balance History

In 2014, we had about $5000 in cash going into the 2014 GIVE THANKS FOR SCRUM event.   After paying all expenses, the GIVE THANKS FOR SCRUM event netted close to $5000 for the Agile Boston community.  We were able to do this in large part because we utilized a FREE VENUE (The Microsoft NERD center in Cambridge MA.), allowing us to keep the tickets prices around $100 each, and to offer early-bird specials for just $59 for a seat!
